MARK SORIAL
Hello! My name is Mark :)
I'm a Computer Engineering major at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I'm interested in High Performance Computing, Embedded Systems, and their applications in the Aerospace industry. I enjoy working at the intersection of hardware and software, and believe a deep understanding of both is imperative to building robust, efficient, and innovative systems.
I am currently an incoming Software Engineering Intern at SpaceX for Summer 2026, working on the Power Electronics Embedded Software team for Starship. This is my third internship at SpaceX, having previously worked as an Avionics Engineering Intern in Summer 2025 and as a High Power Engineering Intern in Fall 2024.
At the University of Illinois, I am a course assistant for ECE408 - Applied Parallel Programming. I plan to pursue a Masters Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering with a focus on High Performance Computing after the completion of my Bachelors.
I am also a part of Illni Electric Motorsports (IEM), the Formula SAE club at the University of Illinois. During my time with the club I led the design of the Steering Wheel Board and Tractive System Activation Light along with contributing to platform firmware.
Check out my resume or my work experience to see what I've been up to.
